Judi Kovacs, CIH, CPEA
Owner & CEO
Judi Kovacs is Owner and CEO of ab3 Environmental Inc., and has 30+ years of experience in developing and managing a variety of aspects of EHS and Corporate Social Responsibility programs. During the most recent 7 years, Judi served as Vice President, of Global Brand Standards at NBCUniversal, where she had developed and led a cohesive enterprise-wide supply chain compliance risk management program comprised of international labor and EHS standards, product integrity, conflict minerals and supply chain compliance functions. In this role, she founded an enterprise-wide cross-business executive committee comprised of key stakeholders to establish and oversee supply chain global brand standards and sustainability metrics, maintained up-to-date benchmark on multi-industry supply chain standards to inform strategic direction of program.  Judi was responsible for operationalizing compliance standards by establishing and managing a large-scale global audit program, targeting manufacturing in developing countries. Consistently apply subject matter expertise and continuous-improvement philosophy to compliance, policy discussions, and supporting integrated stakeholder engagement across the supply chain compliance domain.

Prior to the aforementioned role, Judi was the Vice President of EHS programs for NBCUniversal for the prior 7 years, where she had the primary responsibility of providing strategic leadership developing EHS programs across the footprint of the newly-acquired Universal Studios and Theme Parks. Once the successful integration was complete, she subsequently led and provided support for EHS program development and implementation, digitization and compliance assurance at NBCUniversal.

Judi began her career in industry, where she was employed by Hughes Aircraft and Chemical Waste Management over a span on 6 years.  She then moved her career into consulting, where she provided audit, technical and management consulting services for clients over a span of 12 years within a variety of industry sectors including: consumer goods manufacturing, oil & gas, mining, aerospace, automotive, pharmaceutical manufacturing, media, entertainment, aviation, aerospace, and cruise lines.

Judi received a Bachelor’s of Science degree from University of California, Los Angeles in Biology & Kinesiology, and a Master's of Science Degree in Environmental Occupational Health from California State University, Northridge. Judi is a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) with the American Board of Industrial Hygiene; a SA 8000 Certified Social Auditor; and is a Certified Professional Environmental Auditor (CPEA) by the Board of Environmental Auditors.
